Tarry The Weeping
My harp also is turned to mourning, and my organ into the voice of them that weep. Job 30:31
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4:9-10
Tarry the weeping
Long past the night
Let our tears keep seeping
Into mourning’s evening light
Tarry the grief, the toil and despair
Lest our eyes dry
Our faces bare
We forget how to cry
Tarry the weeping
Let not joy come
Until our hearts are reeling
Our spirits broken, covered in ash, for all we have done.. and left undone
Dark cloud from above, drown us in heavenly tears
Rivers of remorse, pool at our feet
Songs of Sorrow, forever echo in our ears
Lamentations lament, until they are replete
Tarry The Weeping
Let it never cease to end
Woe, help us keep keeping
Repentance, Christ’s Forgiveness it’s holy friend
